A renowned hairdresser was found stabbed to death Monday at a
multi-million dollar residence in Woodland Hills.
Fire authorities responded to a "Hemorrhaging" call just after 5
p.m. in the 5000 block of Queen Victoria Road, according to the
Los Angeles Police Department.
Paramedics arrived at the home and found a man kneeling on his
patio, bleeding, with injuries to his face, police said.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate him, but he was declared
dead at the scene.
Detectives conducted a preliminary investigation, which
confirmed the man suffered several stab wounds to his neck and
upper torso, police said in a statement.
Police identified the victim as 49-year-old Fabio Sementilli, a
licensed cosmetologist and resident of Woodland Hills.
Canadian-born Sementilli was known in Los Angeles and worldwide
as a stylist and beauty industry educator.
His vehicle, a 2008 black Porsche Carrera 911 with paper plates,
was stolen, police said.
Woodland Hills residents were shaken by the news of his death
Tuesday.
"This is horrifying, it's very horrifying," said Eric Walker, a
Woodland Hills resident. "It makes you want more protection for
yourself, cause usually around here we walk, everybody walks."
Anyone with information about the crime was asked to call Det.
Steve Castro of the Los Angeles Police Department's Valley
Bureau Homicide division at 818-374-1925.
