Hello,

Another question. I've been using the Tigi Moisture Maniac
Conditioner for about two weeks and I have to say my hair looks
really, really bad and "straw like". I know some here experienced the
same thing using Pantene products. Oddly enough, Wella Balsam also
gave me weird results. Anyone else exerience this?

And what drugstore brand hair conditioner can you recommend?

Thanks!

Hmmm...no, not with TIGI Moisture Maniac, it worked just fine for me but I very
much prefer TIGI Self-Absorbed shampoo and conditioner. I found those to be
much more moisturizing than the Moisture Maniac products. Their Dumb Blonde
products are more moisturizing as well. I also prefer the smells of either to
Moisture Maniac. (Self-Absorbed smells like fresh oranges, Dumb Blonde like
fresh grapefruit.)

Just like you, I didn't have good luck while trying Pantene products. They
seemed to work fine at first, but then my hair got more dry and seemed oddly
'coated'. To get rid of that I had to use a good clarifying shampoo a few
times (Joico Resolve) and some good heavy conditioners (Joico Moisturizer and
Kerapro) to get it back into shape. Can't comment on Wella Balsam, never tried
their products.

I don't have good luck with drugstore hair products, but maybe it depends on
hair type. My hair is very long, very thick, and naturally on the dry side.
The only drugstore condtioner that ever worked well for me was Aussie Three
Minute Miracle. No other drugstore conditioner was ever moisturizing enough,
many didn't detangle very well at all, and others left that odd 'coated'
feeling no matter how long they were rinsed.

i agree with you here. i much prefer self-absorbed to moisture
maniac.
(aside: if it were possible, i'd drink a bottle of oatmeal/honey
shampoo. i love the way it smells!)

a little girl came in today to get her hair shampooed, cut, and
styled. i noticed when i went to shampoo her hair that it felt
really dry, but when i went to style it, i really felt like
something was wrong with her hair. her mom walked over when i
was finishing the style, so i asked her, "Has she been using
Pantene?" her mother confirmed that she had been using Pantene.
i told her that i wouldn't even use Pantene to wash my car, and
then sold her some All Soft Shampoo and Conditioner. :)

i don't use drugstore hair care, either. around the edge of my
tub i have Redken Color Extend shampoo and conditioner, Redken
CAT shampoo, Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner, Matrix
conditioning balm, and Clear Moisture (new from Redken) shampoo
and conditioner. Clear Moisture has got to be the lightest
(weight-wise) shampoo and conditioner i've ever used! when i put
the conditioner in my hair, i can't even tell that i've put
anything in it. it's truly weightless!

and about the only styling product i use is Redken Outshine. i
love that stuff!

I have noticed the same thing with the Dumb Blonde and Self-Absorbed
recently (in the last year). I have switched to Redken All Soft and
Smooth Down lines

I don't know why you get bad effects with TIGI But I always get best effect with TIGI products. I just LOVE TIGI products.
