Well, it was bound to happen. Sears swore when they bought Lands End
that quanity and prices (and profits) would not go downhill. I have
ordered from Lands End for years and was always happy.
While I am still happy with the products for the most part, I no
longer see any reason to order from their catalog. I have two local
Sears stores that not only stock the Lands End basics I buy (dress
shirts, t-shirts, pants) but can't seem to sell them so they continue
to put them on clearance. Something unthinkable before Sears owned
them.
1. Lands End ties that are $35 in the catalog I found for $4.99 at
Sears yesterday.
2. $29.99 Dress Shirts down to $9.99.
3. Polo shirts that run over $20 at $7.99.
Anyone else notice this?? It's as if they can't sell the Lands End
stuff at Sears so they eventually slash it to rock bottom prices to
get rid of it. I always check my Sears store for their current Lands
End clearance and have found I am paying less for Lands End clothes
than I'd pay for clothes at Wal-Mart (not that I'd shop for clothes at
Wal-Mart, but you get the point).
