I'll assume you're not trolling here, although the gay comment leads me to
think this may be a bad decision. Clogs on men are like long hair or
earrings on men. Some men can carry it off naturally and look good. Some
look ridiculous.

True enough. The same could be said of vintage suits, fedoras, seersucker,
etc. The crux of teh matter is that if you feel like your wearing a
costume, you'll look like you're wearing a costume. If you feel confident
that you're simply demonstrating your own unique style, then that's what
you'll exude.

Okay. I think they look stupid and clunky.

If Mario Batali looks dopey in them, you probably will too.

When I wear my clogs, women typically say the exact same things that they
say to me when I'm not. If they comment on them at all, its either to ask
where I got them or compliment them. The same can be said of all the
shoes/boots/sandals I wear.

Yeah, I didn't really get the gist of the original
post, but I do understand what you're saying here
(although I don't have any clogs...yet).

What I say to clog-wearing men?

"Get bent, hippie."

But I'm pretty sarcastic.

Seriously, I think clogs generally make men look Swedish, or
hippie-ish, or gay (depending on the clog and the rest of the outfit).

On the other hand, if you want to attract Swedish hippie women, you're
golden.

I might assume the wearer is either a profesional chef or a surgeon, both of
which are professions in which foot comfort is supremely important.

That's what I would assume, too. The only men I know who wear clogs a
lot of the time are med students or doctors. That said, I wear clogs a
lot and I'm neither, but I used to be an equestrian -- and that's the
third category of people who tend to wear clogs a lot. However,
considering that the female:male ratio at barns is something like 500:1,
I can't say if male equestrians wear clogs as a rule.

A lot of men in the culinary field wear them, esp the closed back Dansko ones.
Good solid, comfortable, no slip shoe. Personally, never gave it much thought.

LIke most things, wear what makes you feel comfortable and happy.
