Hmm, I've been using the new Neutrogena Sheer Dry Touch SPF 30 for about a week
or so. I noticed, though, that if I put a lot of it on, it would ball up and
flake off in a few spots -- really weird. So I tried the Ocean Potion Face
Potion SPF 45 that everybody seems to like, and it was WAY worse! It balled up
A LOT. So I thought maybe I should use a little bit of moisturizer underneath.
So I did a test on my arm...I used the Oil of Olay SPF 15 UV Protective Lotion
(which has zinc oxide), let that soak in, then used the Ocean Potion (which has
zinc oxide). On the other part of my arm, I used Cetaphil SPF 15 (which has
Parsol 1789), let that soak in, then used the Neutrogena Sheer Dry Touch SPF 30
(which also has Parsol 1789). When I tried to rub them in, the Ocean Potion
with the zinc oxide balled up A LOT!! But the Neutrogena wasn't too bad. When I
tried the Oil of Olay alone, it balled up too. But the Cetaphil doesn't.
Is there something about zinc oxide? It's apparently doing weird things when
it's on my skin! What do you all suggest? I also bought SolarSense SPF 45 for
Face/Nose/Lips (it comes in a little tub like the Ocean Potion.) This also has
physical sunscreens. Is it going to do the same thing? Has anyone had
experience with this one?
What about the Neutrogena Sheer Dry stuff? This one seems to be my best bet,
but how do I get it to stop balling up and flaking off? It's really annoying,
although definitely not as bad as the sunscreens with zinc oxide. I need to use
enough product to get my full SPF protection, but I don't want to have this
reaction!
TIA!
Jessica
