I had Restylane injected into my lips very recently. I have wanted to
get my upper lip plumped for quite some time, I chose Restylane
because it lasts longer than collagen.

I am very pleased with the results. I had an MD perform the injection.
I only used half of a syringe of Restylane. My upper lip now has a
cupids bow and looks fuller- it matches my lower lip. There was only a
little pain when the Restylane was injected, but it was a quick
procedure. There was no bruising and minimal swelling.

The cost was less than $300.00. I have had my new lips for a few days
now... so far, so good. If my lips stay looking as good as they do now
for at least 4 months, I will definitely do this again.

Thanks for the great review! Did they put ice on your lips beforehand to help
numb them? Or any cream containing Xylocaine? And did they put your name on the
syringe so they could use it on you later?

There's an art to injecting Restylane or anything else, and the latest tip we
read is to inject it in layers for the most natural result. Takes only a little
bit, as you discovered.

By the way, the price for Restylane just came down, although the price per vial
went up. Each vial now contains 40% more, for only a 10% increase in price.
Which means doctors can now charge less for it. Also, the company says that if
you get another injection before it has all dissipated, it will last even
longer.

Thanks for the great review, and keep us updated!

They did use a cream on my upper lip to numb it, the nurse put in on
about 25 minutes before the injection. I don't know what the cream
was, but I had the option of the numbing cream or a shot of something
(sorry, I am not to good pinpointing what they used) that would numb
my upper lip. The MD changed the needle out twice when she did the
injections; this would prevent bruising. I am not sure they put my
name on the syringe, I don't think they did.

Excellent point. The doctor injected me on each side, and then gave me
a mirror to take a look. She asked me if I wanted more, I told her I

What is Restylane?
Restylane is a crystal clear gel that is injected into the skin in small amounts to restore volume and structure, smooth lines and wrinkles and to highlight contours. Restylane is based on hyaluronic acid that resembles the body's own hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is non-animal, and you do not take the skin test. There is minimal risk of allergic or hypersensitive reactions.

How long does the effect of a Restylanebehandling?
The results of a treatment with Restylane is long lasting but not permanent, so you can choose whether you want to maintain the effect. Restylane treatment usually lasts 6-12 months, and one recent clinical study has shown that with only one treatment effect can last up to 18 months. To maintain the effect of the lips must normally take after treatment for 6 months.
